Adeiso: 18 Schools To Enjoy School Feeding Program From September

Eighteen Schools in the Upper West Akyem District in the Eastern Region are expected to be migrated into the National School Feeding Program from September 2018, Chief Executive, Mr. Eugene Sackey has announced.

This will bring to a Total of 28 Schools under the Program which started in 2005, an initiative of the Comprehensive Africa Agricultural Development Program (CAADP) Pillar 3 which seeks to enhance food security and reduce hunger in line with the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) on hunger, poverty and malnutrition.

Speaking at a maiden Town Hall Meeting in Adeiso to render one year in office account to the people in the area, Mr. Eugene Sackey said since education is key to Nation building, the Assembly will commit resources into it and invest massively and vowed to complete all projects inherited.

He added that, a total of 1,650 Mathematical Seths were distributed to candidates who wrote 2018 Basic Education Certificate Examination in the area and recently handed over 500 dual desks to the District Education Office to distribute it to Schools with furniture challenge.

According to him, Some Schools were renovated while new contract was awarded and handed over a mechanized borehole to Kwaobaah-Nyanoa Community Day Senior High School.

The DCE said a proposal has been sent for a private company for the Construction of District Library and pledged to make education his priority and called for support.
