Akufo-Addo Request For Documents From BOST MD Fraudulent $3m Payment To Springfield Energy
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has requested for all documents covering the $3 million payment made to Springfield Energy.
Brytfmonline.com can confirm the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has requested for all documents covering the $3 million payment made to Springfield Energy.
The Managing Director of Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST), George Mensah Okley paid the said amount to Springfield Energy despite earlier advice from external lawyers to stop the payment.
The MD and the Director of Finance, John Kojo Arkoful are being accused of engaging in fraudulent payment in July and August, 2018.
Staff of BOST are not only calling for investigations into the matter but also asking the MD to refund the money while many economist and social commentators are calling for the removal of the new MD from office as well as to dissolve the board with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, the President’s request for documents on the dealings has raised indicated governments committed to finding the truth of the matter.
Mr. Mensah Okley replaced Dr. Alfred Obeng who was also accused on engaging in corrupt practices but it seems he (Mensah Okley) will not live long to see the light of the day as barely only one month of assuming that office as the MD paid the said amount to Springfield Energy without putting the advice of the external lawyers into considerations.
