CAF Confederations Cup: Ahmed Toure believes Kotoko has a slim chance
ASEC Mimosas striker, Ahmed Simba Toure, has 'prophesize' Kotoko's chances in the ongoing CAF Confederation games saying it is likely they won't make it to the next round.
KUMASI, A/R – A Former Kotoko and Bechem United goal poacher, Ahmed Simba Toure, says he has doubts about Kotoko’s chances of progressing to the next stage of the CAF Confederations Cup following their narrow victory over CARA Brazzaville at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The porcupine warriors began their African Campaign on a winning note after a 1-0 win over CARA Brazzaville courtesy a late penalty goal from substitute Yakubu Mohammed.
Speaking during an interview with Angel FM, Ahmed Simba Toure testify that the Congolese club will give Kotoko a stiffer opposition in the second league but prays that his former employers achieve it by progressing to the next stage.
“Football is a game so anything can happen but before Kotoko played CARA I knew the performance of the Congolese side in their league, in fact, they are a good side. For me, it will be difficult for Kotoko to qualify but at the same time, I am praying for them to qualify” Toure said.
According to him, if Kotoko could score CARA by two or three goals at the Baba Yara things could have been different but have said Kotoko should expect the same treatment they gave to CARA, stressing that the way Kotoko got penalties at their own backyard CARA too is capable of getting in Congo.
