Eastern Regional Trade fair and Exhibition Opens in Koforidua

The Eastern Region Trade Fair and Exhibition started Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Jackson Park, Koforidua under the theme: ‘BRAND EASTERN FOR EXPORT’.

The Eastern Region Trade Fair and Exhibition started Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Jackson Park, Koforidua under the theme: ‘BRAND EASTERN FOR EXPORT’.

The trade fair and exhibition billed to attract over 100 companies and industries from the 26 Municipal and District Assemblies, is being supported by the Regional Co-ordinating Council, the National Board for Small Scale Industries, the Made in Ghana Committee, as well as the traditional councils and other stakeholders.

The fair seeks to promote export trade of identifiable products and services produced in the region and to create opportunity for revealing the potentials for job creation for improving the livelihoods in the community.

That is to propel the youths and students from the Technical Schools and Universities to go into skill development for industry to create their own jobs to solve unemployment problems.

The fair seeks to bring together over 500 entrepreneurs, craftsmen, and students in Tertiary Institutions, the Youths and the community in general

In attendance is the Minister of Trade and Industry, Alan Kyeremanteng, Daasebre Oti Boateng and others

The Fair is part of activities marking Ghana @ 60 celebration and national efforts being made to ensure that the policy on promoting Made in Ghana products succeeds.

In an interview, Mrs. Doris Asetena-Mensah, the Regional Director of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, said the week-long exhibition was to promote and strengthen business relations in the area with the view of boosting export trade of identifiable products and services.

The Blue skies producers of fresh fruit beverages, Joy industries producers of alcoholic beverages and joy ointment and soap, Intravenous infusions, Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana etc are participating in the fair and is expected to end on Saturday.
