As 14th June is set aside every year to celebrate blood donor day, some Ghanaians have explain why they fear to voluntarily donate blood to the various hospital’s blood banks.

One major liquid that is needed in the human body to make it function well is blood but most a times, some hospitals short of blood which makes many to lose their lives in emergency situations.

Speaking in an interview with Brytfmonline reportor, Stephen Ocansey, some women earnestly reveal why most at times they voluntarily fail to go to donate blood to the various hospitals explaining: “women are found of  losing huge amount of blood in times of birth and during menstruation period and are of the view donating blood can affect their health”.

Others also stated they fear the syringe used to suck the blood which makes it difficult to donate nor even check their blood groups.

This year’s celebration of  the World Blood Donor Day is under the theme :“Be there for someone else. Give blood .share life”.
