Hearts of Oak signs former Kotoko goalkeeper Ernest Sowah

Sowah left Kotoko after falling out with Executive Chairman Dr Kwame Kyei following accusations that he took bribe in a Ghana Premier League game last season.

30-year-old Ernest Sowah has signed a two-year deal with the glorious Accra Hearts of Oak after terminating his contract with Asante Kotoko.

”We are happy to welcome Ernest Sowah into Hearts family,” goalkeepers trainer Jerry Agyei told the media.

”He is an experienced goalkeeper and we believe will help bolster our goalkeeping department.”

Sowah left Kotoko after falling out with Executive Chairman Dr Kwame Kyei following accusations that he took bribe in a Ghana Premier League game last season.

Before joining Kotoko two seasons ago, he was close to signing for Hearts until negotiations broke down at the last moments.

He will be expected to challenge for number one spot occupied by inconsistent Benjamin Mensah.

Hearts of Oak becomes Sowah’s fourth club in Ghana, having had stints with Tema Youth, Berekum Chelsea and Kotoko.

Opare Addo the PRO of the Phobians said Sowah will be of useful use as the club seeks to win the GPL after so many years and urged the Phobian family to support him to succeed.
