At 34 years with an injury- plagued career, former Ghana captain John Mensah has poured cold water on retiring from active football insisting he is not done with football.

According to the marauding defender, football is not about age but rather depends on how you feel as a player.

“I have not made any idea of retiring from football right now but I’m just thinking about how to get well to play again instead” he said.

Speaking in an interview, the former Lyon defender claims football is not about age indicating that there is no specific age used in playing football.

“You can decide to stop playing depending on how you feel but not on what you have gained. So for me I cannot say I will retire within five years or six years because I have not made any decision on that” John Mensah added.
