Students of Pope John Senior High School (Pojoss) were hopeful they will emerge winners of the contest between St. Francis Xavier and Sweduro Senior high on Tuesday, June 12, this year.

However, they were beaten out as St. Francis Xavier emerged winners in the 1/8 stage of the competition.

Speaking with a POJOSS student candidate, he expressed that although he and his team came with a high expectation to win but things did not go as planned.

“I am not disappointed. In a contest, you win or you lose” he said.

This is the third time in a row the best all-male institution in the Eastern region is losing out to a lesser-known school in the competition as it suffered the same fate at the hands ofJachie Pramso.

The aim of the National Science & Math’s Quiz which is sponsored by Ghana Education Service (GES) is to promote the study of the sciences and mathematics, help students develop quick thinking and a probing and scientific mind about the things around them.
