The five-member committee set up by the Managing Director of Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST), George Mensah Oakley, to take stock of over 600,000 litres of the contaminated product at BOST reported to have evaporated is a well-rehearsed strategy by the MD and the Head of Finance, John Kojo Arkoful to divert Ghanaians attention from the GHS 14.4 million illegal and fraudulent payment to Springfield and must therefore be ignored.

The committee chaired by the CEO of the Chamber for Bulk Oil Distributors, Senyo Hosi said after enquiring about the disappearance of the fuel at Zup Oil, his team was told that the off-spec product had “evaporated.”

Since 2015 BOST had given its Depots across the country to TSL, a Nigerian company to Operate and Manage. TSL is responsible for product loss that may arise as a result of theft, manhandle and improper accounting.

Therefore, BOST is expected to hold TSL responsible for this so called over 600,000 litres evaporated contaminated product if they suspect any mischief. On the other hands if they think it is normal in their operations then why putting it in the public domain? This according to some of the staff who spoke to Brytfmonline.com said the MD and Director of finance clearly want to divert attention from the dirty Scandal they have committed.

“Ghanaians are now well informed and more intelligent to be allowed a few individuals to continue taking us for granted. George Mensah Okley assumed office just within three months and could conspire with John Kojo Arkoful and Kelvin Okyere to defraud the state to the tune of GHS 14.4 million and yet we have shameless people with same criminal mensrea (intent) to help him cover up”. They said

“If it were Alfred Obeng or Kwame Awuah Darko regime that this gargantuan unprecedented scandal in the history of BOST happened these fraudsters and criminals would have gone heaven and earth for their removal and prosecution but today they are hiding behind them to divert Ghanaians attention from it. May the good Lord continue to have mercy on our only nation”. The staff said.

George Mensah Oakley – BOST MD

This according to the staff “We are sounding a word of caution to those who really love President Akufo-Addo to draw his attention to the fact that this scandal is a test case for him to actually prove to Ghanaians that he is not corrupt by sacking the culprits, George Mensah Okley and John Kojo Arkoful because the evidence is self-explanatory”.

A person appointed to office just within one month and could pay GHS 14.4 million in a matter before court without the knowledge of the head of legal department and also ignored the well-crafted professional legal advice by the external lawyers handling the case. So what due diligence did George Mensah Okley do before paying this huge money?

“Notwithstanding this wicked act committed on our poor country, we still have people like Asamoah Boateng and others attacking a board member who wants the money to be retrieved from Springfield Energy”.

“We are reminding President Akufo-Addo that GHS 3.6 million Bus branding scandal is nowhere near Scandal-Okley which is GHS 14.4 million and yet President John Mahama that you and your then running mate labelled as incompetent and most corrupt person in the world found it necessary to compel Dzifa Attivo to resign from post as Transport Minister but your government does not see it necessary for a mere acting Managing Director of BOST and his Head of Finance to resign from post?”.

They are again reminding President Akufo-Addo saying in opposition, advocacy with sweet talks is enough to win power but same cannot keep you in power.

“If economic fortunes alone can keep government in power, NPP would have won 2008 presidential election”.

It is the wish of every well-meaning Ghanaian and floating voters especially the elites expectation that George Mensah Okley and John Kojo Arkoful would be sacked immediately from BOST for orchestrating this serious fraud.
