World Tourism Day To Be Celebrated In September 27 In Abetifi-Kwahu

A Symposium is expected to be held at the Presbyterian University, Abetifi, Kwahu and a durbar of Chiefs at the Abetifi Palace on September 27, 2018 to mark 2018 World Tourism Day (WTD) on the theme; “Tourism and the digital transformation”.
The three day event from Friday, September 28 to Sunday, September 30, would be held at the usual Odweanoma Mountain at Kwehu Atibie. Seven seasoned international tandem pilots from the USA and Switzerland would be flying passengers during the event. Also flying solo are two Ghanaian pilots, Michael Kwakye and Jonathan Quaye and would be followed immediately with a Corporate Paragliding festival dubbed “Fun and Fly”.
A release issued said the Ghana Tourism Authority, under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture and “On September 28, there will be an opening ceremony of the “Fun and Fly” corporate paragliding at the Odweanoma Mountain and the commissioning of the newly constructed food court, after which the paragliding night begins”.
According to the release, the Ghana Cyclist Association has also partnered GTA to organise a “King of the Mountain” competition between cyclist from Ghana, Cote d’lvoire, Togo, Benin, Nigeria and Burkina Faso.
It is expected that due to the expansion of the take-off site and provision of washrooms and sitting area for guests, a lot of corporate organisations would participate in this important event to relieve them of some stressful schedules at their respective work places.
