In an interview with journalist Rui Miguel Mendonca, the Portuguese coach spoke about Darwin Nunez’s first season at Benfica, admitting that he expected more from the Uruguayan striker. It is worth noting that the coach worked with Darwin in Almeria, he even gave his signature to be certified by the Spanish club.

He can give more and I think Jesus, more than anyone else, has the power to snatch more players with Darwin’s qualities,” he said, to conclude later.

“I hope for more in this second season, I think Benfica also needs him more up front and I think that’s what will happen, because he’s a natural worker and the quality is there, you just need to be able to put him to work from the team in the best way and at the best of times.”
