fuel? Next week brings good news

Fuel prices will fall next week, reflecting the average prices of gasoline and diesel in global markets. According to an industry source contacted by MultiNews, “The evolution of prices in euros indicates a decrease in the price of diesel of up to 1.5 cents per liter, while gasoline is expected to fall by 0.5 cent” at the major NOCs. .

Prices for service stations in supermarkets also follow market trends. Another source says, “The trend for the next week will be a decrease of 0.0046 euros in gasoline and 0.0132 euros in diesel.”

Data from the Directorate General of Energy and Geology (DGEG) show that the average price of a liter of gasoline in Portugal is currently €1.746, while that of diesel is €1.519. However, quotations at service stations may differ, since the price set on the network also takes into account the level of competition, supply and demand in each market and the level of fixed costs at each station.

In the latest European Commission bulletin, Portugal ranked fifth among the countries with the most expensive gasoline in the European Union, 13 cents above the European average and 26 cents more expensive than Spain. Diesel ranks sixth.

The difference in price between Portugal and Spain is due to the tax burden, because without taxes, each liter of 95 gasoline in Portugal would cost 69 cents, which is the same as Spain.
