DGS allows stadiums to be 50% capacity – Sports

according to Orientation 009/2021, published Thursday, the DGS updated its guidance on “indoor and outdoor sports facilities”.

With regard to open spaces, the health authority notes that “the seat reference for the audience in single-seater seats is 50%” excluding the front row “next to the sports area. At the same time, “the seats must be occupied by a place among the spectators, so that the occupied seats are not identical in every row.

The General Directorate of Sports continues to advise against any contact between spectators and other participants in the sports event, and also recommended that uninhabited places should have “signs prohibiting their occupancy” by the public in stadiums and pavilions, in addition to the mandatory use of masks inside these spaces. .

Reaching venues, whenever the number of spectators exceeds 1,000, in an open environment, or more than 500, indoors, a digital certificate of complete vaccination or testing with a negative SARS-CoV-2 result will continue to be requested.

However, the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has already confirmed that the DGS guidelines will be followed “with immediate effect” in the competitions it organizes.

In Portugal, since March 2020, 17,689 people have died and 10,28421 confirmed cases of infection have been recorded, according to data from the Directorate General of Health.
