Francisco Benítez confirmed, in statements he made in this Thursday’s issue of O Jogo newspaper, that he will even run for the presidency of Benfica, in the elections scheduled for next October 9.

The leader of the “Server or Benfica” movement has even started the process of collecting signatures, which he will use to speed up on Friday, during the Extraordinary General Assembly, which will take place in booth No. 2 in Luz.

The candidate, who remembered, on the last ballot, said in 2020, he gave up the race and declared his support for Joao Noronha López, president of the opponent Luis Felipe Vieira.

Francisco Benitez is, to date, the only confirmed candidate to lead the incarnate. Joao Noronha Lopez has already announced that he will not present himself to vote again, while the current president, Rui Costa, has not yet taken an official position.
