Culminating in a victory, the match against Gil Vicente was especially symbolic for Marcano. The Spanish defender, in Barcelos, played the 250th match of the White and Blue team in the Liga Boyne. Reaching the Uneven Master gives him a sense of satisfaction, but he regrets that his long pause kept him away.

“It’s a feeling of joy, I thought it could happen soon … a tough injury kept me off the field for a long time, but I was able to come back and I’m happy with that,” the defender said. He speaks to FC Porto, referring to the injury he suffered in May 2020. The return to training occurred almost a year later (March 2021).

Challenged to elect the most prominent matches played in the tournament, Marcano quickly turned his thoughts to one where he could lift the cups, highlighting Conceicao’s debut to become a champion as coach of FC Porto.

“I think of the matches that won titles, I think of the first title with Mr. Sérgio Conceição, Championship (2017/18) in a difficult moment. The team was in a difficult moment, without buying players, with many borrowers, but with one great atmosphere in the dressing room We had a great season, the matches that won titles are the most amazing,” said the defender.

Associated with the Dragon since 2014, having only left in 2018/19 to represent Roma, the FC Porto team member praised, with the vast accumulated knowledge, the coexistence that exists between the human mass of the city and the club.
