Apple recently revealed – on October 18th – the latest generation of laptops MacBook Pro for 2021. We have, in fact, new 14-inch and 16-inch models equipped with the new processors Apple M1 Pro where Apple M1 Max.
Among the new Apple processors there is a difference in the number of cores (nuclei) present in both chips. Therefore, the initial performance of each of these processors will naturally vary, something that has now been confirmed by Geekbench 5.
20% difference in processing power between M1 Pro and M1 Max
We can now consider the results obtained on the Geekbench 5 test bench using Apple’s 14-inch MacBook Pro laptops. There, versions with an octa-core M1 processor were tested, as well as versions with an octa-core M1 Pro processor, and finally, the higher version equipped with a 10-core M1 Max processor.
Please note, however, that this is just a test. Therefore, it is important to cross these values with new rounds of tests, and it is also preferable to compare the results obtained on similar platforms before making a final judgment.
However, we see a 20% difference in processing power Between the 14-inch MacBook Pro laptop with M1 Pro chip (octa-core) and the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M1 Max (10-core) chip.
The most important is the strength difference which is demonstrated in the tests multicore. There we see a difference of nearly 30% between the M1 Pro (octa core) vs. the M1 (octa core) processor.

In short, with the new 14-inch and 16-inch Apple MacBook Pro laptops hitting the market, we now have a more realistic sense of the current improvements. Apple once again outdoes itself with a solid performance boost.
These are the most expensive and well-equipped laptops that Cupertino technology has brought to the market. Finally, they are machines aimed at the professional market, with the possibility of surprising even the most demanding.
In Portugal, the price of the new MacBook Pro starts at 2,349 euros and will be available from October 26, 2021.
