CEO who fired 900 Zoom workers is leaving his post indefinitely

Vishal Garg admits he ‘failed’ in laying off employees

Better.com CEO Vishal Garg who was about a week ago Fired The company announced that for every Zoom video call, 900 workers will be on strike indefinitely.

Resolution, reports The Wall Street Journal, to officials on Friday. In the email, the company regards the past week’s events as “completely unfortunate,” and announces that it will hire an outside company to assess culture and leadership within Better.com. The company will be managed during this period by Chief Financial Officer Kevin Ryan.

Last Wednesday, Garg had already posted an apology on the company’s website, lamenting the way it had fired 900 workers.

“I take responsibility for the decision, but I failed to communicate it,” the letter read.

This controversy is not the first that Vishal Garg has been involved in in recent months. Days before launching Zoom, in an initially anonymous post on the social network Blind, the CEO accused some of his employees of “stealing” the online mortgage company by working fewer hours than they should have.

“Did you know that at least 250 of the people who were laid off were working about two hours a day while being paid eight hours? They were stealing from you (other employees) and our customers, who pay our bills,” Garg wrote under the pseudonym “Educate Yourselves” .
