After the outbreak of influenza, the city of São Paulo, this Friday (24) on Christmas Eve, started the vaccination against the H1N1 virus. 469 UBSs (Basic Health Units) will be open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM to serve the public.

The vaccination announcement by the city came after it received, Thursday (23), one million doses of the H1N1 influenza vaccine from the Butantan Institute.

The institute responded to a request from Covisa (Coordination of Health Monitoring) and SMS (Municipal Health Department), which Send an official letter requesting additional doses of the flu vaccine, in an attempt to mitigate the disturbing image of Increasing the number of patients With respiratory symptoms in the past few days.

In November 2021, SMS recorded a total of 111,949 visits of people with flu-like symptoms, 56,220 of whom were suspected of having Covid-19. This month, as of Tuesday (20), SMS is recording a total of 156,629 cases of respiratory illness, with 73,718 suspected of having Covid-19.

Last week, SMS, through Covisa, submitted the same request to the Ministry of Health. This year, about 4.5 million people received the H1N1 influenza vaccine in the city of São Paulo.
