The PSI-20 index closed this Thursday at 5,663.94 points, up 0.06%, the most modest gain among the major European markets, except for London, which recorded a slight decline.
The EDP range was crucial to keeping the index on positive ground. EDPR advanced more than 5% and EDP rose 2.75%, compensating for losses in other major listed companies such as Jerónimo Martins, Galp and BCP.
The renewable electricity arm rose 5.05% to €20.18, while the parent company gained 2.75% to €4,639. Yesterday, after the market closed, EDP Renováveis indicated that Energy production grew by 6% last year.
The energy sector also saw the REN rise 1.19% to €2.55, and Greenvolt rose 0.66% to close at €6.13. Galp was the third publicly listed company to decline, with a return of 2.56% to €9,574.
In terms of positive performance, Nos was marked by a rise of 1.8% to 3502 euros, in addition to Mota-Engil (+ 1.64%) and Altri (+ 1.57%), with the paper trash being One of Santander’s favorite stocks for this year.
The biggest drop of the day was for Novabase, where the technology lost 4.01% to €5.26. Jerónimo Martins in turn fell 2.93% to €21.23, a day after closing at an all-time high of €21.87.
Also note the 2.07% drop in BCP, to €0.1608, with the bank led by Miguel Maya being penalized by alerta do Credit Suisse, which kept the target price at 13 cents.
