After analyzing the defeat to Sporting (1-2), Nelson Verissimo approached his place as coach of Benfica.
He started with a guarantee: “The only thing I can promise as a Benfica coach is that we will work hard every day to improve the way the team plays.”
“The coach is always in danger. The most important thing is that we are aware of the work we do and know very well what we want. There are aspects that need to be improved, in a club of the size of Benfica there is no room for a draw or defeat, we know this requirement. He explained that we want to constantly improve and achieve victories. sequentially, so we count on the support of our fans.”
When asked if he admits that Benfica is a few steps behind his most direct rivals, the coach said: “I don’t have to compare. Benfica is on its way, there has been a change of coach and of course a different way of looking at the match. I don’t want to apologize for taking the train in progress, it is now up to me to find the best solutions for the team’s collective growth and to meet what all partners aspire to, which is to win the team consistently, to deliver quality performances.”
