Bruno Lage is the latest winner of the “Talento que Marca o Mundo” award, a distinction that highlights Portuguese players or coaches who have demonstrated their talent across borders, in a vote by several Liga Portugal members and ambassadors. After winning the four games he played in January, the 45-year-old took home the award and took the opportunity to reveal the characteristics that led to the feat.

“The prize is for talent, but in this case, I think my talent is to dedicate myself to work in a very powerful way. This is the biggest request I make to those who work with me,” Bruno Lage noted.

The coach also took the opportunity to tell about how well he has adapted to England, noting that after a turbulent period that ended with his departure from Benfica before the end of the season, in 2019/2020, it seems that people have already changed some of their views regarding the Setubal-born Portuguese coach.

“I was very well received and immediately received a lot of support from the Wolverhampton and Portugal fans, where I have always felt support and affection. I think that people today, over time, have thought and thought about my bigger ideas and what I am as a coach, as a man, and ultimately the ideas that I had for the team I was coaching in Portugal.”
