CSKA Moscow, Zenit Saint Petersburg, Dynamo Moscow and Sochi have appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS) over their withdrawal from European competitions, following the sanctions imposed over the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

“We inform you that our club, along with three others – Zenit, Dinamo and Sochi – have submitted an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne (CAS) against the UEFA decision of 2 May 2022 excluding Russian clubs from European competitions. All clubs requested a prompt review of the complaint. We hope that the sporting principle will be respected. CSKA strives to play in European competitions and will fight for the top spots in the tournament until the end. The filing of the complaint before the end of the season is linked to deadlines for the appeal of certain decisions by UEFA,” reads the statement from CSKA .
