UEFA threatens to expel Porto from European competitions – football

UEFA threatened FC Porto with exclusion from European competitions for the next three seasons and a fine of 100,000 euros, but in the meantime the Dragons issued a statement guaranteeing that they had exceeded “the goals set by the agreement, which will be officially referred to the competent authorities next October.”

“The UEFA Financial Control Committee (CFCB) considered that FC Porto, after the reopening of the operation, had slightly failed to achieve the main objective of its settlement agreement, and as a result, the First Chamber of the French Central Football Council (CFCB) decided to impose a fine. The club is excluded from the upcoming UEFA club competition for which it will qualify in the next three seasons, unless the club’s overall tie result for the financial years 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 meets the balance requirements,” as stated in an official memorandum issued Friday of UEFA CFCB.

The CFCB also fined Santa Clara €10,000 for “small breaches of balance requirements”.

Failure to comply with these “balance requirements” has resulted in UEFA’s Financial Supervision Committee reaching an agreement with eight foreign clubs violating the Financial Fair Play system to pay a total of 172 million euros in fines.

French champions Paris Saint-Germain were ordered to pay 65 Egyptian pounds, of which 10 ME points will be fully settled, while the remaining 55 MEs will be withheld in line with the club achieving the objectives set in the liquidation agreement.

The European Union also imposed sanctions on the Italians Roma (35 ME), Inter Milan (26 ME), Juventus (23 ME), Milan (15 ME) and Turkey’s Besiktas (four ME), in addition to the French Marseille and Monaco. To settle two ME each.
