Eating cold water fish helps prevent Alzheimer’s disease. This was demonstrated by a study conducted by researchers at the University of Texas Health Science Center.
According to scientists, eating cold-water fish and other sources of omega-3 fatty acids such as salmon, tuna, and sardines can keep your brain healthy and improve cognition in middle age.
To arrive at the results, the team looked at the relationship between concentrations of omega-3 fatty acids in red blood cells, as well as studying the effects of omega-3 concentrations in red blood cells in volunteers who carried the protein APOE4, a genetic variation linked to an increased risk of Alzheimer’s disease.
