CTT’s earnings rise 7.6% in the first nine months – Telecom

CTT earned a profit of 28.3 million euros in the first nine months of the year, an increase of 7.6% (two million euros) over the same period last year, according to the statement sent Thursday to CMVM. In the past three months, the net result was 13.8 million, an increase of 50.8%.

EBITDA (EBITDA) was €87.6 million, up 4.7% over the same period last year, of which 36.4 million was realized between July and September – an increase of 42.1% over the third period. Quarter 2021.

These results come on the back of an increase in operating income of 662.8 million euros up to September, an increase of 8.1% (49.9 million) compared to the first nine months of last year. The company reports that there has been “growth in all areas of the business”.

The Post and Other segment, which accounts for about half of all invoices, saw an 8.3% increase (+26.6 million), “reflecting NewSpring Services’ integration into the CTT offering in September 2021 (€+14.6 million) and €24.3 million growth in the core business of Business Solutions. business, due in large part to revenue related to the computer sales project that started in the last quarter of 2021 (+21, 5 million euros).

However, in this period, “directed traffic experienced a decrease of 3.9%” compared to the nine months of 2021, largely due to transactional (-4.6%) and editorial (-4.8%) traffic. The exception is ad traffic, which increased by 5% (but equals less than 6% of all processed objects).

In terms of other revenue, Banco CTT posted an increase of 24.9% (+17.9 million), Financial Services and Retail by 11.2% (+4 million), and Express and Parcels by 0.8% (+1.4 million).

Operating expenses were 619.8 million euros during the January-September period, an increase of 52.4 million euros (+9.2%) over the same period last year.
