France’s victory celebrations end with the death of one person and the arrest of more than a hundred

On Wednesday, a boy died after being run over in Montpellier, after the match between France and Morocco that allowed France to advance to the 2022 World Cup final. The disturbances in the celebrations also led to the arrest of at least 100 people.

A night that ended in tragedy. A 14-year-old boy lost his life during France’s victory celebrations over Morocco in Montpellier. According to a statement issued by the municipality of Herault, the child of Moroccan origin was run over and taken to hospital, but died after receiving medical treatment. According to the same note, the car has been found but the suspect is on the run.

Pictures of the accident, which were circulated on social media, show a speeding driver over a group of fans of the Maghreb national team, after he saw his French flag torn from the car.
