Twitter blocks third-party apps from accessing its services

Published on

Elon Musk’s Twitter change is completely transforming the social network. These are changes that are mostly intended to make it more profitable and more user-friendly, but have proven disastrous.

The latest issue surfaced at the end of last week and affected all users who were using third-party apps on their services. These things have been banned and everything seems to have been provoked by Twitter itself.

Third-Party Twitter Elon Musk APIs

There is a new problem with Twitter

Even with its own apps for its social network, Twitter has always allowed access to other apps on its services. These APIs are used by the Service to provide users with all of its features, without any restrictions.

This scenario seems to have changed this past weekend, when these apps started showing problems. Without any alerts from Twitter, these clients started showing error messages and stopped granting access to the social network.

Applications do not access the APIs of this service

Twitter has never acknowledged this issue nor if it can fix it. The many reasons were given, without actually saying why, but only apps like Twittbot, Twitterrific, Fenix, and others had this incorrect behavior.

from a fountain advancedAn internal communication revealed that this behavior was intentional and that it was Twitter who deliberately provoked him. They haven't revealed why this happened or how this will be resolved in the future.

Elon Musk has not yet commented on the situation

It is noteworthy that it is strange that Elon Musk has not yet expressed his opinion on this issue. Since he was so active at this point, it was expected that he had already come to the audience to comment on the situation and provide more useful information.

Perhaps Twitter is preparing to change the rules for accessing its APIs in the future, which is not expected. This is the access point for these apps, which would compromise their future use.
