Massive success on Nintendo Switch

In the three days since its release on Friday, May 12, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for Nintendo Switch has sold more than 10 million units worldwide, making it the best-selling game in the series. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a direct sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. In the game, players decide their own path through the sprawling landscapes of Hyrule and the mysterious islands that float in the vast skies above. Discover new destinations, dangers and puzzles that require intelligence to overcome. By harnessing the power of Link’s new abilities, players will fight against malevolent forces that threaten the world.

The Legend of Zelda action-adventure game series began over 35 years ago with the original The Legend of Zelda game for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987*. As the heroic Link, players embark on an adventure fighting enemies and discovering mysteries hidden in vast fields and dungeons. As of March 2023, the series has sold over 130 million units worldwide.
