The Bank of Portugal (BdP) warns of five entities that are not eligible to grant credit, to carry out mediation or advisory activities on credit agreements.

The regulator informs that “Escalas Sumárias, Unipessoal, Lda”, also operating under the brand name “AgrupaCréditos”, and Maria José Cardoso Lopes, are not qualified to carry out, in Portugal, any financial activity intended for supervised institutions. It is mediation and advice on credit agreements.

Mediation and advisory activities regarding credit agreements stipulated, respectively, in paragraph (j) and (p) of Article 3 and in Articles 4 and 7 of the Legal Regulation for Credit Brokers (approved by Decree-Law No. 81-C/2017), dated 7 July), for entities eligible to exercise it, pursuant to the provisions, respectively, in Articles 5 and 7 of that Certificate,” explains the BdP.

In addition, it warns that Liliana Patricia Amaral Vieira and Rosa Natalia Marques Pereira are not qualified to carry out, in Portugal, any financial activity intended for institutions under its supervision, that is, to grant credit.

“The credit-granting activity, stipulated in Paragraph (b) of Paragraph 1 of Article 4 of the General Regulation for Credit Institutions and Financial Companies (approved by Decree-Law No.), is limited to entities qualified to practice it, in accordance with the provisions of Article 10 of that certificate,” he stressed.
