Hydrotherapy: Healing with water

Published on

The word hydrotherapy comes from the Greek word “Hydor” (water) + “Therapeia” (healing). Ancient Greek wisdom is already attested to by what science proves today: multi-purpose, hydrotherapy, the use of water and its resources for treatment, works real miracles in rehabilitating most different problems. A combination of different types of therapy that have water as a motive provides patients with conditions for movements and exercises that would often be almost impossible on land, with the great addition of the analgesia that water provides. It is one of the most widely used resources for naturopathic treatments.

Indications:

Hydrotherapy is indicated for the treatment of tendinitis, fractures, sprains, dislocations, hernias, osteoporosis, osteoporosis, postural deviations, and others. It is also used in the treatment of cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s disease, strokes, spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis, and neurological disorders in general. It is also worth noting the great benefits that hydrotherapy provides to the elderly – in addition to a better quality of life, the elderly generally obtain a good level of physical strength and muscle stretching, as well as improved balance and consequent fall prevention.
