For many years, Dropbox has been one of the most used cloud services on the Internet. Even with Google, Apple or Microsoft, many choose this solution. Now, a novelty has appeared that few will like. It’s time to say goodbye to Dropbox’s unlimited cloud storage plan.

After many years of giving some of its customers total freedom, with unlimited cloud storage, Dropbox decided to change the rules.  You'll end your unlimited cloud storage plan and start making other rules.
Interestingly, the reason for this change lies not in unusual usage by its customers, but in practices that contravene the rules.  We are talking about using Dropbox for encryption and mining.  There are even cases of resale of this space on the Internet.

We found that an increasing number of customers were buying advanced subscriptions not to run a company or organization, but for purposes such as cryptography and Chia mining, unrelated individuals accumulating storage for personal use cases, or even storage resale cases. 
In recent months, we've seen an increase in this behavior after other services made similar policy changes.

in Publishing As it did to report this new reality, Dropbox also revealed that this is not a measure that will be taken lightly.  Many other services have the same policies, which should be for the same reasons.
Even if you end up with unlimited cloud storage, Dropbox will have a solution for its users.  What it reveals is that 99% of affected customers use less than 35TB of storage per license and will be able to continue using what they used at the time of migration.  In addition, they will get an additional 5 TB of storage space for 5 years.

For the remaining 1% that use more than 35 TB of storage per license, Dropbox will offer these customers an offer similar to the one above.  This will continue for a year and try to find a plan that meets your needs.
Dropbox has confirmed that it will gradually move existing users to the revised Advanced plan starting November 1st.  They will be notified of this deportation at least 30 days before it occurs.  This would be an unexpected change, but unfortunately it is bound to happen.
