The “Knowledge of the Judiciary” program takes students from the UFCG de Sousa law course

“It was a great experience and getting to know the Court of Justice in Paraíba is a dream come true.” This is how the student of the law course at the Federal University of Campina Grande, Souza Campus, Salomao Laurentino, expressed himself when participating in the project Knowledge of the Judicial Power, which aims to bring citizens closer to justice in Paraiba. On Monday afternoon (28), he and his colleagues were visiting the administrative headquarters of the state judiciary.

The students studying between the eighth and tenth terms were accompanied by the coordinator of the initiative, Judge Leandro dos Santos, who gave in the courtroom of the Court of Justice the first clarifications about the work of the judiciary in the state, and also spoke a little about his experience in the judiciary.

“Knowledge of the judiciary has the greatness of not being exhausting. There is always something new to say, this experience is shown to young law students, with a promising future and eager to know and understand what judiciary is, so that they can make their professional choices, because if they are lawyers, prosecutors or judges, the judge noted Leandro dos Santos pointed out that “it will be within this scenario of the justice system.”

Professor of Legal Practice, Francifaldo Gomez de Moura, emphasized that getting to know the Court of Justice was an enriching moment for him, especially for the students, thanking the opportunity and emphasizing that the experience will make the students feel more citizenship, because participation and dialogue.

“This interaction, the exchange of ideas and the acquaintance with realities that are often different for the student is very important. The work of the Court must be replicated and expanded so that people increasingly exercise citizenship by participating and getting to know the judiciary in Paraiba ”, emphasized Francifaldo Gomez.

For student Salomao Laurentino, not only the visit, but the life experience imparted by referee Leandro dos Santos motivates him to continue dreaming and fighting for his goals. “Especially after the pandemic period we’ve been through, the connection to justice that takes place in physical spaces is also very important for our professional training,” he stressed.

According to the schedule, next Monday (09/04) it will be the turn of students of the Federal University of Paraiba. Visits by students from CESREI University of Campina Grande are also planned (09/18); FIP, from Patos (10/02) and UFPB (10/16).
