Inspections and surveys to combat the spread of mosquitoes that transmit diseases such as dengue, chikungunya and Zika are continuing at full speed in São Vicente. From Monday (4) to Wednesday (6), about 25 Endemic Disease Control (ACE) agents will be in the field, inspecting homes and institutions in the Jardim Irma Dolores neighborhood (quarantine).
The UVZ team starts work at 9 am, and professionals expect to visit around 1,200 sites in the region.
UVZ Coordinator Daniel Lima Soba points out that inspections are very important in the work of monitoring and controlling mosquito vectors. “During inspections, agents almost always find outbreaks, often in homes that the owner claims are not there. This happens because specialists are trained and gain the ability to identify these places, which often go unnoticed by the person in charge of the property.”
“Moreover, during inspections, agents direct and clarify residents’ suspicions, in order to draw the attention of the community to be vigilant in combating the infestation of larvae.”
The Ministry of Health (Sisao) points out that citizens can be great allies of professionals in the fight against the disease, as they open the doors of their homes and receive agents to carry out inspections.

Arthrovirus control – Sissao State continues to implement various measures to control the spread of vector mosquitoes, such as property inspections, eradication of disease outbreaks using chemical, biological and mechanical methods, lectures, theaters and educational stands, as well as control of breeding sites in places with positive cases.
This year, Cissao has appointed more Agents for Endemic Disease Control (ACE), enabling expanded coverage of inspected properties in the city. Over 60 ACEs have been summoned to join the team, with a total of 92 in the arthropod fight.
In addition, UVZ promotes monthly training for all agents, which aims to prepare and improve professionals to work in the field of surveys and inspections in the city’s neighborhoods.
