Neemias Koeta has been released by the Sacramento Kings. The information was provided by journalist Adrian Wojnarowski, from ESPN, who reported that Nerlens Noel also ended his relationship with the California team. This is a situation that was already, in a way, gaining predictability after the franchise signed JaVale McGee. In addition, Domantas Sabonis, Trey Lyles and Alex Len are the other defenders who have a guaranteed contract, leaving the Portuguese international outright with very little space in the squad under Mike Brown.

In this way, the Portuguese center becomes a free agent, being able to sign for any other team in the NBA – the season starts on October 24 – or head to Europe, although that time is now scarce, with the preparations already underway. During the summer, the basketball player was linked to Partizan, one of the main teams of the Old Continent and coached by the legendary Zeljko Obradović. Remember that In August, Nehemiah had signed the so-called “standard” contract., valid for one season, which could predict a greater investment in “Quetão” after two seasons bound to a “two-way” contract, which limited his use in the main team and where he ended up playing mainly for the Stockton Kings, in the G League. This summer, he was in the summer league spotlight but a foot injury took him out of contention during the month of July.

In his seasons with the Kings, Queta participated in 20 matches with the first team. Last season, he participated in 43 games for the Stockton Kings, the Sacramento team. In these, he averaged 17.7 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.9 tackles per game. Nemeas was the first Portuguese player to be part of an NBA team when in 2021 he was the Sacramento Kings’ 39th pick in the draft.
