Works on the new Volta Redonda Science and Technology Museum should be ready in December. The interactive venue, located in the Laranjal neighbourhood, will be able to promote the teaching of scientific content to children, youth and adults, in a more accessible language, stimulating curiosity and stimulating the search for knowledge. The new feature is that once ready, visitors will be able to visit the Municipal Zoo (Zoo-VR) from inside the museum. This will be possible through a virtual tour using special glasses. The project has been approved for R$ 274,940.00 and will be financed by Finep (Funder of Studies and Projects) – a public company linked to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI).
Planning and implementation will be carried out by Al Furjan/Sinai Institute of Innovation and Technology, in partnership with SMDET (Municipal Secretariat for Economic Development and Tourism). Using virtual glasses, museum visitors will be able to see the spaces where animals are cared for and visited.
The goal is to bring Zoo-VR closer to visitors, as well as to advertise the work done at the site, which receives injured wild animals or donated or seized fruits for treatment and reintegration into nature. “We seek to create equipment that can aid education in a playful way, making teaching and learning fun and open to everyone. As is the Science and Technology Museum that is under construction in the Laranjal neighbourhood. I have no doubt that it will be great works. The idea is to have “On a series of equipment in the same vein as in Rio – such as the Museum of Tomorrow and the Javea Planetarium, for example. They will be attractions for studies in specific subjects, such as mathematics, physics and chemistry, but also the humanities – history and geography,” commented the Minister of Education, Economic Development and Tourism. , Sergio Sodry.
Mayor Neto praised the municipal government’s commitment to investing in education and making Volta Redonda a reference in the country.
“We are working hard to make Volta Redonda a reference in our country. We have invested in several areas, but education is undoubtedly one of the government’s priorities. We have implemented a series of measures that include innovation, technology and new ideas. I can guarantee that today learning at Volta Redonda has become more “Attractiveness to our students. It is clear that there is still a lot to be done in rebuilding education, but we are making progress.”
