Carlos Pintado has taken disciplinary action against Benfica following the events that occurred after the final whistle of the match that pitted the Dragons against FC Luz, on 29 September. In the document, which the Porto channel had access to, it can be read that the employee of the Porto first team was hit in the left eye by an object coming from the stands and is facing a “very serious injury.”

The case was initially reported by Sergio Conceicao, shortly after the classic film. At the press conference, the Dragons coach announced: “We went to do the circle in the area where the FC Porto fans are, despite some objects falling on the field. The employee in question, Carlos Pintado, now faces a serious eye injury, which was diagnosed after going to the DS João Hospital, in Porto, to receive medical care. Since then, Pintado has undergone two surgical interventions to restore his sight and is under medical observation.

According to the league’s disciplinary regulations, clubs are responsible for “changes of order and discipline made by their members or supporters in complexes, sports venues and competition areas, on the occasion of any official match”, and are liable for defeat in the event of physical assaults causing “injuries of particular gravity, either by their nature or Because of the duration and degree of disability.”

According to the report submitted against Benfica, FC Luz “clearly did not guarantee the safety of the sports agents present on the field, as is the case with its commitment.”
