ACEMEL – The Association of Energy Traders of the Liberalized Market, following the electoral process of the new administration for the triennium 2023-2025, elected João Nuno Serra, CEO of Enforcesco (Yes Energy), as its President.

In the context of market fluctuations, as a result of geopolitical and economic instability, the first goal of the new management strategy is to strengthen the role of suppliers in creating a competitive market that brings more benefits to customers.

In line with market developments and European Commission directives in this area, the inclusion of renewable gases is also an essential aspect of the strategy, along with cooperation with its Brazilian (ABRACEEL) and Spanish (ACIE) counterparts, with which cooperation agreements have been concluded. Active participation in AICE – the recently created Ibero-American Association of Energy Traders.

Finally, the new management plans to continue close cooperation with all stakeholders in the sector, including the regulator, helping to accelerate fundamental energy transition processes and making contributions to the debate on this topic.

The Board of Directors of ACEMEL, which is now in office for a three-year term, consists of João Nuno Serra, from Enforcesco; Abrigio Guimarães, from Acciona Energia; Carlos Moreno, of Usenergy; José Faria, from LUZiGÁS, and Diogo Lamelas, from JAFPlus.
