– In order to protect the agency's ability to provide humanitarian assistance, it has decided to end working relationships with these individuals and open an investigation, according to a statement issued by Philippe Lazzarini, head of the United Nations Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide confirmed that they had been informed of the accusations.

Norway is an important donor to UNRWA, and we await more information about how the organization will follow up on these serious allegations, says Eddy, adding:

The humanitarian situation in Gaza is catastrophic. I would like to emphasize that UNRWA is the most important humanitarian organization in Gaza. The organisation's 13,000 staff play a crucial role in distributing aid, saving lives and protecting the basic needs and rights of the population.

Claims to Israel

The United Nations Court of Justice in The Hague decided on Friday that Israel must:

• Implement all measures within its power to avoid genocide

• Ensure that its military does not commit genocide, and punish those who incite genocide

• Take measures to improve the humanitarian situation

The International Court of Justice also requires Israel to submit its report within a month. The court also asked Hamas to lay down its weapons and release all hostages.
