On Friday evening (9), Trimembe confirmed that the first death from dengue fever had been recorded in the city in 2024. According to epidemiological surveillance, the victim was a 73-year-old woman, and she was suffering from comorbidities.

According to the city council, the elderly woman had been hospitalized since January 24 and was already suffering from pre-existing illnesses, such as heart disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and her health condition had deteriorated due to dengue fever.

According to the city council, the elderly woman did not survive and died in the intensive care unit on January 25. The patient's diagnosis of dengue fever was confirmed this week by the Adolfo Lutz Institute.

The city of Tremembe said in a memorandum that it regrets what happened and that it has intensified its measures to prevent dengue fever.
