The Barcelona court's decision to grant Dani Alves conditional release has sparked controversy in both Spain and Brazil. Among the people who did not hide their astonishment was Irene Montero, the former Spanish Minister of Equality, who left a comment on social media, and even received a response from the defender’s brother. The former government official wrote on Twitter that the player's release was a “dangerous message about the lack of protection for women.” “Powerful men can buy their freedom,” he said, adding: “We need justice to be feminist and equal for everyone.” Nay Alves, the player's brother, responded to the current Podemos candidate for the European elections. He wrote in an Instagram story: “No, Irene, if Dani Alves is free today it is because the judge sees contradictions in the victim’s story.”

He later issued other publications insisting on his brother's innocence. “The victim lied”, “Daniel is innocent”, “The whole world will regret the cruelty they did to Dani Alves. God is faithful.”

And remember that although he was granted conditional release, after being accused and sentenced to four and a half years in prison for raping a young woman in a nightclub in Barcelona, on December 31, 2022, Dani Alves has not yet been released from prison, as he needs to deposit the bail set at one million euros, At this point, his bank accounts were frozen.
