European panic hits Lisbon. Only three titles escape the red

On a day when trading volume was expected to be lower, due to the holiday, the PSI began trading in the red, in line with the sentiment dominating the major European markets at this time.

The Lisbon Stock Exchange started Monday's trading session in red. The PSI fell 0.57% to 6,698.87 points, with 13 companies down, two companies up and one company – Ibersol – trading unchanged compared to Friday's closing price.

Despite the victory of the moderate parties in Portugal, the main Portuguese index did not ignore the negative feelings that dominate the main European markets at the present time, in the wake of the results of the European elections, in which there was an increase in the extreme right.

On the other hand, due to the Camões Day holiday, a less intense session is expected today on the Portuguese stock market. The listed company that declined the most was Semapa, which lost 5.39%. However, it is a technical decline, as the company will begin paying ex-dividend this Monday. In other words, securities traded from today onwards no longer give the right to pay a dividend of 0.626 Euros per share, which will be delivered to shareholders on June 12.

Moreover, the five heavyweights on the Lisbon Stock Exchange are in the red: EDP Group fell by more than 1%, with the parent company losing 1.21% and Renováveis down 1.18%. The central bank fell by 0.74% and Jeronimo Martinez shares fell by 0.4%. The price of JALB decreased by 0.31%, at a time when oil is advancing in major global markets.

Conversely, Navigator was the company topping the chart, rising by 1.75%. In the green zone, the REN still adds 0.42%.
