sAra Ferguson remembered Queen Elizabeth II, the mother of her former husband Prince Andrew, for whom she had great affection.
In an interview with Planetum magazine, the Duchess of York recalled the last words she heard from the Sovereign. “The last thing the Queen told me was to be myself. It was the best gift, apart from the corgis, she ever gave me.”“, stated.
She also said: “I care about you, Sarah. I love you.” You are more than enough. If only.”complete.
Sarah pointed out that these words had great meaning to her, especially since she was always compared to Princess Diana.
“When you're constantly being compared to Diana or always being in the papers doing something wrong, and they call you 'Bad Fergie', 'Furious Fergie', 'Fat and frumpy Fergie', 'Frolicking Fergie' (names I was 'baptised' because of his image and personality), you end up thinking I'm much better now, but I still have some things to work on.”
“At 64, I finally feel free to be myself,” she adds. “Instead of trying to please everyone, I can accept that it’s not possible and move on with my life.”
Remember that Queen Elizabeth II died on September 8, 2022.
