Antarte is the first Portuguese furniture brand to launch furniture designed by artificial intelligence – Executive Digest

Published on

Antarte has become the first company in the country to launch furniture designed with artificial intelligence (AI). This innovation is the result of a collaboration between advanced technology and the creative vision of Mario Rocha, founder, CEO and creative director of Antarte since its founding in 1998.

The furniture, which includes two armchairs, a TV stand and a coffee table, was developed using an AI algorithm that closely followed the briefings given by Mario Rocha and Antarti. The goal was to maintain the timeless design that has distinguished the brand for more than 25 years.

The process not only relied on technology for inspiration, but also allowed AI creative freedom in designing parts, which were then fine-tuned to ensure quality and producibility.

“The innovative nature of this furniture design lies in the fact that AI was given the freedom to create the design of the pieces. We had the audacity to ask AI to design a set of furniture. We did not just look for inspiration from this technology. The creations proposed by AI were refined in detail in order to speed up their transition to the production phase. They are products of excellent aesthetic quality and combine the use of human and artificial intelligence,” explains Mario Rocha.

With this initiative, Antarte demonstrates its ability to innovate. “It was essential that Antarte once again took the first step in using technology that will revolutionize human development,” adds the CEO of Antarte.
