Used as an aid in the eradication of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which transmits dengue, Zika and chykungunia, the Low Volume Spraying Service (UBV) – known as Fumcê – will pass through 23 provinces in Campo Grande on Wednesday (third). There will be an endemic and vector control vehicle (CCEV) of the Municipal Health Department (Sesau) circling through the streets of each neighbourhood, following the predetermined streets.
The difference in neighborhoods will be:
- Elvis Pereira
- Midwest.
- Angels;
- Maria Aparecida Bedrosian
- brunettes;
- industrial core
- Piratininga.
- Rita Vieira
- Sao Conrado
- Tiradents and
- University.
To increase the effectiveness of the insecticide, it is necessary for the resident to open doors and windows, so that the poison reaches the places where mosquitoes are likely to be.
Vehicles will start spraying at 4:00 p.m., and continue until 10:00 p.m., on a predetermined schedule. In the event of rain or strong winds in the area where the teams are scheduled to pass, it will not be possible to perform the service.
The pesticide infects adult mosquitoes, preferably females, that carry the disease. However, it is possible for other species to be affected, so judicious application of the venom is essential.
