The warning sirens sounded in the Spanish national team. After Sergio Busquets tested positive for the Covid-19 virus, La Roja officials feared an outbreak and began taking emergency measures.
The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) announced on Monday that four players have been invited. Rodrigo Moreno (Leeds), Pablo Fornals (West Ham), Carlos Soler (Valencia) and Brice Mendes (Celta de Vigo) – already announced by the Galician club – were called to join the focus on Tuesday morning.
These four athletes will work daily in the RFEF facilities, but apart from the 24 initially called up by Luis Enrique. The goal is to avoid any kind of infection. And federation officials revealed, through an official statement, that these four elements may or may not be part of the invitation to the European Championship, depending on the results of the Covid-19 tests conducted in the coming days for the Spanish team.
