There are nine players and one member of the machine who were immediately isolated from the rest of the team, in order to prevent further contacts. The club remembers that the club is training in Pinavel, after the match against Tondela (0-3), in the first round of the league.

Without these nine athletes, Santa Clara will be heading to Slovenia on Wednesday. The islanders will face Olympia Ljubljana on Thursday in an attempt to defend the 2-0 advantage achieved in the Azores.

Santa Clara Acores, Futebol SAD has reported that ten positive cases (nine athletes and one member of staff) have been detected, following the latest COVID diagnostic tests performed on Working Group 19. Infected items have already been isolated from the rest of the group.

We also know that, quickly, all required measures were taken by the health authorities, in order to preserve the safety and health of the entire group and all those around it, in the hope of avoiding further infection.

We also take the opportunity to emphasize the precautionary position adopted since the beginning of the epidemic through the following measures: weekly diagnostic examinations, with the last set of tests carried out on August 3; Accommodation on isolated floors in frequent hotel units; European travel on charter flights, regardless of the high costs involved; vaccination of the entire working group; mandatory use of a mask in all places attended by the team; Regular cleaning of used areas.

Despite the limitations that may result from these injuries, the team will seek to represent the country and the region appropriately, as early as next Thursday, in a match referring to the Conference League against Olympia.”
