The Estoril Open has awarded Dominic Thiem the second “wild card” for the tournament that will take place between April 23 and May 1 at Clube de Ténis do Estoril.
The Austrian, formerly No. 3 in the ATP rankings and currently at number 51 in the hierarchy, thus joins other big names already confirmed such as Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime (9th ATP), Argentina’s Diego Schwartzman (16) and Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta. (nineteenth), Albert Ramos Venola (37) as well as the Portuguese Joao Sousa (87), who received the first invitation.

In addition to already winning a Grand Slam title at the US Open, he is considered one of the best claycourt players today and the World Cup Finals at Roland Garros testified to that.
