After the month off after the Dutch Grand Prix, on June 27 the World Championships in speed are back, batteries charged and ready for a double dose of excitement at the Red Bull Ring circuit in Spielberg. An Austrian road will host the Grand Prix in Styria, stage 10 of the calendar, next Sunday, and in Austria, the following Sunday, August 15, a KTM stronghold, it was precisely on the Styria stage. Miguel Oliveira, a year ago, had his first MotoGP win.
Tech3 Director Hervé Poncharal fondly recalls the Portuguese’s historic 2020 brilliance at Red Bull: “Obviously, we have fond memories of last year, when we achieved our first-ever motoGP win with Miguel Oliveira, which we will not forget.”
In Oliveira’s case, he was ready and ring on his finger as the Almada captain used his vacation to accomplish what Covid made impossible last year: moving to the married team with his usual girlfriend, Andrea Pimenta.
“This weekend we made the most important curve of our life,” shared on social networks the 26-year-old pilot, who, after a short honeymoon, just yesterday, in Vienna, photographed himself with a bright edge on the left rink.
And judging by Oliveira’s sincere happiness smile, the #88 bike is likely to return faster than ever to cornering.
