Porto’s 19-year-old right-back Tomas Estevez, who was playing in the B team, underwent surgery on his right ankle, under the supervision of Dr. Marta Masada, at Hospital de Santa Maria in Porto.
The national youth international and European U-19 champion, when he won the UEFA Youth League in 2018/19, was injured while working for Quinas in the U-19 category during the previous competitive break, last September and has since not returned to play.
It must be remembered that Tomás Esteves, protected under a €40m termination clause, scores only three matches in the Dragons main team (all in 2019/20), by orders of Sérgio Conceição: two in the Championship and one in the Copa del Rey, which results in an average of 109 minutes.
In the following season 2020/21, the promising right-back was returned to England from Reading (the Championship), where he played 30 games and scored a goal, and returned to FC Porto at the end of the season for 8 million euros.
Tomás Esteves is the brother of Gonçalo Esteves, who is also a young right-back who left Porto for Sporting in the market last summer and is part of the list of greatest promises born in 2004 promoted by the prestigious British newspaper, Generation Next. Watchman.
