A BOLA – Two renewals at Alvalade (Sporting)

As we have reported directly, the winger and striker have been in the process of negotiating a review of their respective contracts, and both are close to reaching the agreements already reached. Nuno Santos, 28, has a relationship with Sporting until 2025, and now he is going to extend the association, apparently for two bad years, until 2027.

The left winger arrived at Alvalade in the summer of 2020, from Rio Ave and for €3.75m – Vila-Condenses retained the right to 20% of the future sale. At that time, also coveted by FC Porto, the Lions benefited from Benfica, who was still in the presidency of Luis Felipe Vieira, having not triggered the anti-rivals clause that had been placed in the player’s association when Luz left for Vila do Conde in 2017 – However, the eagles would trigger this rule if the dragons advanced.

Once in a lion’s chest position, Nuno Santos quickly gained space in the starting line-up, first in attack, and then playing the entire flank in the Ruben Amorim 3x4x3 scheme.
